Free download Simpson’s Forensic Medicine (14th edition) by Jason Payne-James & Richard Jones in pdf.
Earlier editions of Simpson’s have been directed predominantly at a medical readership. This has now changed as forensic disciplines have expanded and the role of forensic medicine and sciences has grown.
Much of this growth is related to a greater public awareness of the essential roles that these disciplines play in a fair justice system. Although forensic medicine has a long history of involvement with the criminal justice systems, this role has also been extended into many parts of the civil justice system including family law.
This has been accompanied by a dramatic growth in undergraduate and postgraduate courses with a forensic element. It is crucial that students and practitioners in such settings are able to understand how their area of work or study interrelates and interacts with others in different settings.
Whether one is a budding forensic practitioner, law enforcement officer, healthcare professional, lawyer, or someone who, by the nature of their work, will at some stage (like it or not) become involved in forensic matters, there is an increasing need to be aware of, and understand, the basics of forensic medicine and how it relates to the other specialties.
This, the 14th edition of Simpson’s Forensic Medicine, has been revised to assist all those groups; not merely doctors and other healthcare professionals. Hope it provides a solid introduction and background to the principles of practice for those embarking on careers in forensic settings, for those in practice and for those who may not be from a forensic background but whose daily workload brings them into contact with situations that require an awareness of such matters. This probably applies to most healthcare professionals.
Within this edition, each chapter provides recommendations to access more detailed information about a subject, whether online, as peer-reviewed journal articles, or substantive publications.
