University of Sindh is one of the oldest university of Pakistan. University of Sindh is a public sector general university. It is chartered by Government of Sindh and recognized by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. The university was established in 1947 at Jamshoro, Sindh, Pakistan. It offers undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate and doctorate academic programs in various faculties and departments.
Department of Chemistry University of Sindh was founded in 1953 under the faculty of science. The status of department of chemistry was raised in 1967 as a Institute of Chemistry. The Institute of Chemistry was renamed as Dr. M. A. Kazi Institute of Chemistry in 1999 after its founder Chairman and Director (late) Professor Dr. Mumtaz Ali Kazi (Dr. M. A. Kazi).
