The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) started its journey as Jamia Abbasia in 1925. In 1975 university was declared as a chartered university and renamed as The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB). The Islamia University of Bahawalpur is chartered by Government of the Punjab and recognized by Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. IUB is a public sector general university.
Department of Chemistry of IUB established in 1975 and located at Bahawalpur campus of the university. The department offers undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs in the fields of Organic, Inorganic, Physical, Biochemistry and Analytical Chemistry. The department offers academic programs both in morning and evening.
