University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) is a public sector general research university, established in 1980 at Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan. The university is chartered by the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and recognized by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
The university offers academic programs in Science and Engineering, health and medical sciences and humanities. The science and engineering group includes Departments of Botany, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Computer Sciences and Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Software Engineering, Zoology and the Institute of Geology while Kashmir Institute of Economics and Departments of English, Law, Education, Sociology & Rural Development and Art & Design make up the Humanities group. Also located at Muzaffarabad is an information Resource Centre and Lincoln Corner.
